A common pairing with portable X-ray units

LG detectors are widely used with battery-powered portable X-ray units, and we supply them for that use as often as for fixed rooms. The reason is auto exposure detection (AED): the panel senses the exposure itself, so there is no sync cable and nothing to connect on the portable. It works the same way on a handheld or cart-based unit as it does on a room generator.

Any portable, any brand

No interface to the unit means no compatibility list. If the portable can expose film or a CR cassette, it can expose the LG detector.

Wireless in the field

The panel sends images to a laptop or workstation over its own wireless link (802.11ac), with a cable option where you prefer it.

One panel, two jobs

The same detector can serve a portable for house calls or equine work and a fixed room, with the software managing both.

Questions

Does the LG detector work with a portable X-ray unit?

Yes. The detector uses auto exposure detection, so it is not wired to the X-ray unit and does not depend on its brand or type. Battery-powered portables, handheld units, and fixed room generators all work the same way.

Which size should I choose, 14×17 or 17×17?

14×17 fits existing 14×17 bucky trays and is the common choice for medical practices and portables. 17×17 covers more of a large patient in one exposure and is what we install in veterinary rooms and the Velion LG DR System.

Are the panels new, and who installs them?

New panels, supplied as an authorized LG distributor. Our own team installs and calibrates on site; standard installation is included in Southern California and travel elsewhere is quoted upfront.

Can I replace a failed panel of another brand with an LG detector?

Yes. We replace other brands of panel with an LG detector and software as a retrofit, on your existing generator or portable.
